Some days stay with you — not because they’re perfect, but because they’re full of heart. The Melp Mindful Miles Fun Run was exactly that kind of day.
We woke to a wet start, with rain hanging in the air and puddles already forming along the route. But if there was ever any doubt about the spirit of the day, it disappeared the moment people arrived. As the morning went on, the rain eased, the routes stayed gloriously muddy, and those big puddles? They became part of the fun. People didn’t tiptoe around them — they ran straight through, laughing, cheering each other on, fully embracing the moment.
From start to finish, the atmosphere was electric.
The turnout on the day was absolutely brilliant. Runners of all ages and abilities came together — some tackling the 1K, others pushing themselves through the 5K or 10K — all united by a shared purpose and an incredible sense of community.
There was laughter at the start line, encouragement all the way around the course, and genuine pride as people crossed the finish line. The vibes were high, the smiles were constant, and the sense of togetherness was unmistakable. This wasn’t just a run — it was a shared experience, and one that reminded us exactly why events like this matter so much.
None of this would have been possible without our volunteers — and we cannot say this loudly enough: they were outstanding.
From early-morning set-up through to cheering runners on, guiding routes, offering encouragement, managing logistics, and keeping everything running smoothly, our volunteers brought energy, warmth and positivity in abundance. Many were out in the rain, on their feet for hours, smiling the whole way through and making sure everyone felt supported, safe and welcome.
Their commitment, kindness and sheer effort shaped the entire day. We are endlessly grateful for every single one of them.
Events like the Mindful Miles Fun Run don’t happen without support behind the scenes, and our sponsors played a vital role in bringing the day to life.
Their backing allowed us to create an event that was inclusive, well-organised and genuinely special — from the route setup and on-the-day experiences to the wider impact the event will now have. Their belief in what we’re doing, and in the importance of mental health and community wellbeing, means more than we can properly put into words.
What stood out most on the day was the feeling — that sense of connection, shared purpose and joy. Despite the puddles, despite the mud, despite the weather doing its thing, the energy never dipped. If anything, it brought people closer together.
People stayed to chat, to cheer others home, to soak up the atmosphere. There was a real sense that everyone was part of something bigger — something meaningful.
To every runner who showed up and gave it their all.
To every volunteer who made the day run so smoothly.
To every sponsor who helped make it happen.
And to everyone who brought their energy, their smiles and their support.
Thank you.
The Melp Mindful Miles Fun Run was everything we hoped for and more — and we’re already excited for what comes next.
